Grade K Patterns!

Pics of our Mandalas to come soon.  Students created many patterns on their mandalas with a new drawing tool called Oil Pastel.   We finished our mandalas early so we made simple pattern bracelets.

Color Wheel Creatures!

We are learning a lot about color in grade one.  Ask your kid to sing you the primary colors song! Today we turned the color wheel into a color wheel creature.

Spaghetti People and Shape People

Students learned how to use shapes to draw strong shape people.  Pictures show drawings done before and after instruction.

Grade 2 Animal Head Self-Portraits!

Grade 1 Pinch Pots

Here are the first grade pinch pots.  They were delighted to paint them gold.  Students created all different types of pots.  Some had handles, some were big, some small, some had texture.  Once finished they created observation of their pots by really looking and going slow.
The student above decided to draw himself painting his pot and a few friends in the background.
Here we have hot coco spilling from one of the pinch pots.  Oh no better watch out for those wobbly
pots!

Grade 5 Leaf Paintings

Grade 5 students started by drawing a leaf from observation.  Some students painted form observation. Others used colored pencil.  They all made sure to mix the compliments to get the right color.

They also learned how to express themselves using different techniques with saran wrap and masking tape.  Some created texture with saran wrap while others created a masking tape resist.  Some did both.  After all that observation drawing and painting this was a much needed treat!
